EDF DÉMÁSZ is a leading energy provider in Hungary and guarantees a secure and stable power supply for all households. The company serves 20 percent of the electricity market in Hungary. Annually, it uses more than 1,000 parts and more than 5,000 connecting cables in the infrastructure of the power grid. Other important functions of the company include the proper documentation of technical and geodetic records, as well as the administration and maintenance of electronically published service information on supplier data.
In order to improve the efficiency of its employees in branch offices as well as on-site, the company implemented an integrated solution several years ago. The solution, which was implemented with suitable client computers at the time, had a higher efficiency in managing administrative tasks, but still could not meet the increasing requirements of the growing company. That is why EDF sought a new, modern system to replace the existing computer solution.
In order to efficiently manage the planning, optimisation and tracking of tasks, a system with high functionality and performance was required. In addition, employees at both the central office and the mobile teams had to be constantly connected to each other while they were doing their work on-site. They needed reliable, robust and easy-to-carry laptops, which are resistant to harsh weather conditions, as well as shaking and impacts during transport to on-site inspections.
With the robust Getac V110 notebook, EDF found an effective solution to meet the demanding requirements via its variety of intelligent features, high performance, connectivity and resistance to falls, bumps and moisture.
Thanks to these features, in combination with the low weight, the device could be used by the employees on-site as well as in the central office, without having to worry about damage to the hardware or the data stored on it.
The Getac V110 has all the essential specifications required by EDF, including Intel Core i5, SSD, GPS, dual battery capacity, camera, 4 GB memory and a GSM module. The device is certified according to MIL-STD 810G, IP65 and 461F and therefore offers fully robust features. In areas with poor visibility, the backlit keyboard supports the uninterrupted execution of all tasks. The slim design and light weight of the V110 ensures for comfortable mobility and convenient operation at any location.
The EDF staff on-site receive their orders in real time, thanks to the SIM/GSM card slot, and reports back just as quickly. They are now able to quickly take over their tasks and complete them without delay. They are supported by the Mirtusz special software installed on the notebooks. For example, you receive information about your work plan, identify the locality and location of the line, and perform other tasks professionally. In addition, the devices are used to retrieve data, communicate with the central office and upload daily reports about jobs to the cloud system, ensuring a high degree of real-time traceability.
Thanks to this solution, EDF was able to concentrate its main focus on a highly competitive supply. The technical information and support parameters required by EDF are precisely supported by the Getac notebooks, resulting in significantly improved performance and reliable work efficiency.
