Imagine you go shopping and when you get to the checkout, there are already ten customers queuing in front of you. There is no second checkout in sight and the poor cashier has problems with a poorly readable barcode. The next customer only pays with small change, then there’s another return and eventually it’s your turn. Would you go shopping there again? The fact is that three out of four end customers avoid the shop after such an experience. To prevent your customers from getting into this situation in the first place, apg has turned its attention to mobile POS with its IP-enabled NetPRO checkout drawers. The result: waiting times are shortened and through the intelligent networking of several mPOS devices with one cash drawer, your customers even save cash!
The apg NetPRO interface for cash drawers is available in various configurations and communicates directly with the mobile POS devices that your customers in retail and gastronomy use to control the cash drawers. It can be easily and quickly integrated into LAN and WLAN environments, where it behaves like an independent, IP-capable device in the network. Communication with the client takes place via UDP and TCP sockets.
Your customers’ staff share the cash drawer across multiple clients in the network. In addition, NetPRO offers the possibility to check cash transactions and issue user notifications in real time, if required.
Leading luxury technology and fashion retailers often install cash drawers in discreet locations in their shops, away from the main checkout areas. This allows them to offer exclusive customers a discreet purchase when the shop is full. All that is required is to scan a barcode on the front of the cash drawer for it to open – this ensures that the cashier is in close proximity when using the cash drawer.
