Ideal for the quick scan The DS4608 Series is equipped with an 800 MHz microprocessor and a high-resolution megapixel sensor. Together with Zebra’s PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology, they provide fast barcode capture for continuous operation. Things go even faster with the multi-code data formatting – your customers scan several barcodes at once and have them transferred in a desired order.
Clear read confirmation times three Making sure of user certainty, that’s why your customers receive a clear triple good read confirmation after each successful scan. It is done visually by a good-read LED and a direct decoding indicator with lighting on the barcode, as well as by an audible beep. The volume and frequency of the beep may also be adjusted, as needed.
Detect host, start scanning The DS4608 Series interfaces include USB, RS-232 and TGCS (IBM) 46XX over RS-485. Particularly useful is the host recognition, which automatically selects the correct interface when connected. This makes the scanner immediately ready for use – and your customers save time.
Quickly from the hand in the stand Another benefit of the DS4608 Series is the ability to quickly switch between handheld and presentation modes. For presentation mode, your customers simply place the barcode scanner in the presentation stand provided – done! The handheld mode is automatically activated as soon as the scanner is picked up.

DS4606-DPE – for wide barcodes For scanning very wide barcodes, the DS4608-DPE is the ideal choice. It captures up to 4″ wide barcodes and is capable of reading the very small and dense DPM codes on plastic and metal subcomponents.
DS4608-SR – for scanning at a distance up to 46 cm The DS4608-SR also scans codes up to 46 cm away. This allows your retail customers to reach items in a shopping cart without leaving their checkout area. In addition, the DS4608-SR also captures full-page documents.
DS4608-HD – for small, dense barcodes In order to read high-density barcodes, which are often very small, for example on jewellery price tags, the DS4608-HD is the right scanner for the task.
Zebra DS4608-HC
The healthcare version of the DS4608, the DS4608-HC, is suitable for all healthcare applications – from the lab up to the hospital, to the pharmacy. The barcode scanner with its eye-friendly LED illumination is even suitable for the requirements in very sensitive areas, such as the intensive care unit.
The DS4608-HC has disinfectant-resistant housing, which is suitable for regular cleanings with common disinfectants. Screw holes and loudspeakers are sealed – this also protects the scanner from bacteria.
Scanning without disturbing patients To ensure that your customers’ patients are not disturbed by scanning, the DS4608-HC is equipped with a three-way good scan confirmation, including a vibration function and an adjustable night mode.
