The 2D scanners of the DS2200-HC Series were designed by Zebra specifically for the demands in the healthcare sector. Thanks to PRZM technology, the corded (DS2208-HC) and cordless versions (DS2278-HC) reliably capture 1D and 2D barcodes at all times and to the user’s satisfaction.

That’s why Zebra specifically designed them to be robust. The housing easily withstands regular cleanings with common disinfectants and it withstands multiple impacts from up to 1.5 meters and is IP52-certified against dust deposits and diagonally falling dripping water.
Help for the whole day The powerful 2,400 mAh lithium-ion battery of the DS2278-HC remains fully charged for up to 14 hours of operation, supporting users far beyond a normal work shift. If it needs to be re-charged after all, it only takes an hour with a USB cable connected to the host or a USB power supply. Even during operation, it only takes four hours via the presentation station.
Good performance day in and day out Numerous interfaces ensure good performance and high operational readiness of the DS2200-HC Series: USB, RS232, keyboard wedge, RS485 and Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE (DS2278-HC). Another big plus here is the cable recognition, which automatically selects the correct host interface. This saves time for really important things, such as patient care. Plus, the DS2278-HC may be directly connected to a Bluetooth-capable PC, tablet or smartphone via scan-to-connect.
Performance with a broad range of applications The DS2200-HC Series allows for a quick switch between presentation and handheld modes. For presentation mode simply place the scanner in the presentation stand. Once it is picked up it automatically switches to handheld mode. Also, an innovative targeting line optically shows the ideal distance from the scanner to the barcode during the scanning process. Successful scans are signaled with an acoustic tone and an LED light. For noise-sensitive areas the scanner features a »Do not disturb« mode.
