Its dimensions are a mere 154.4 × 76 × 9.6 mm (H × W × D) and it only weighs 173 grams. This makes it easy to stow away in a trouser or vest pocket when needed.
Just as flexible as the userIn times when everyone is reachable at all times, extremely good, fast and reliable wireless connectivity must be standard equipment. This is also true for the EC50/EC55. It inspires your customers with a Wi-Fi connection in »cable quality«. To do this, it combines 2×2 MU-MIMO, WorryFree Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 802.11ac/r/mc and Workforce Connect PTT Express with each other. This ensures a nearly immediate response, even making the mobile computer suitable for complex telephone applications at the reception desk.
With Bluetooth and NFC, a single tap with a finger is all it takes for your customers to connect the EC50/EC55 to a printer or read an ID card. Plus, Bluetooth 5.0 increases the performance of connected peripherals by offering significantly higher speed and an extended range.
A pearl in terms of equipment varietyZebra has standard equipped the EC50/EC55 with a powerful 3,060 mAh battery. When fully charged, the mobile computer is thus ready for use for up to 12 hours. If that is not enough, an extended battery with 4,180 mAh is also optionally available. With it, the operational readiness increases to up to 16 hours when fully charged. With so much stamina, nothing stands in the way, not even long working days.
The EC50/EC55 also improves team communication with reliable voice and data applications, and saves time for employees and guests with the fast performance of the advanced SD660 octa-core processor. The integrated 3 GB RAM and 32 GB flash provide sufficient storage space for all kinds of data. Depending on the requirements, both storage media may be optionally expanded to 4 GB RAM and 64 GB flash.
For fast capture of common 1D and 2D barcodes, the EC50/EC55 has an optional omni-directional 2D scanner with a SE4100 scan module. Detailed photos and videos for documenting proof of condition, return receipts and more may be captured via the rear 13 megapixel colour camera with LED flash and an auto-focus function. On the front side there is also an optional 5 megapixel camera with fixed focus.
Easy to use for every taskOperating the EC50/EC55 is already incredibly convenient, thanks to the Android operating system and is further facilitated by the 5″ HD display. Among other things, its capacitive multi-touch support makes it intuitive to use and offers a lot of space for information. Another big benefit is the Corning Gorilla Glass integrated in the touch panel and scanner window. Both are almost completely water- and dust-proof, as well as particularly scratch- and impact-resistant. Also, the optional protective cover protects them from possible damage as a result of falling.
The crunchy shell for protecting what’s insideWith its robust housing, the EC50/EC55 is able to withstand all kinds of hindrances in daily work. Its IP67-rated housing is entirely protected against dust and even withstands being submerged under water for a short time – so it easily handles an overturned glass on a restaurant table. Should it fall off the table or out of the user’s pocket, it is reliably protected by the optional protective cover from a height of up to 1.5 m. It also withstands temperature differences ranging between -10 to +50° C during operation and storage temperatures of -40 to +70° C.
