The challenge
An American apparel company operates 450 retail stores across the United States. Additionally, the products are sold online via catalogues. The company receives daily deliveries of around 15,000 items from over 500 different suppliers, most of whom use self-developed labels. The processing of these self-developed labels costs the warehouse and distribution centers considerable additional time – which slows down the supply and increases the operating costs.
The solution
For a uniform identification, label templates were created with BarTender and distributed via the web-based BarTender print portal. This enables every supplier to access it and use it to label the goods – regardless of whether they are using a Windows or iOS operating system.
The web portal used supports a broad range of browsers, such as Safari or Internet Explorer/Edge. Also, the BarTender licensing per printer ensures that the costs for unused technologies from seasonal suppliers, for example, are now eliminated.
