Drei \u00d6sterreich is an Austrian full-service telecom provider based in Vienna, which operates 82 shops in Austria. The company recently replaced the existing receipt printers in all its branches with new, modern Epson TM-T88VIIs with matching Epson DM-D70 displays.<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\/ Challenge \/<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Michael Kraus, IT Support Engineer at Drei, explains: \u00bbAs a service-orientated company, it is very important for us to provide customers with a pleasant shopping experience. This also includes using new technology.\u00ab Until now, all Drei branches have been using somewhat outdated receipt printers. Therefore, they needed to be replaced with modern, flexible systems. Drei decided to purchase Epson TM-T88VII receipt printers with the perfectly matching Epson DM-D70 display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\/ Solution \/<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kraus explains: \u00bbCommunication with our customers and durable hardware was an important goal for us when planning and procuring the new checkout hardware. To ensure that customers are better informed, we have introduced a new receipt layout and made the receipt clearer and shorter. With the new receipt printer, we also have the option of printing advertising using image files. This was not possible with the old printers, but with the new Epson TM-T88VII, supplemented by the Epson DM-D70 display, which is ideally suited to the receipt printer, we are no longer restricted in the placement of image and text data on the receipt or display. The TM-T88VII also delivers a very good print image and supports environmentally-friendlier phenol-free paper.\u00ab<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\/ Advantages \/<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While the display and cash drawer are controlled directly via the USB interface available on the printer and the cash drawer connection, the receipt printers themselves can be accessed via the LAN network available in each branch. Customers now have the choice of receiving their invoice via receipt, email or both channels. \u00bbThe combination of the TM-T88VII receipt printer and the DM-D70 display with its large, eye-friendly screen paves the way for effective up-selling and cross-selling\u00ab, says Kraus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bbDuring the entire procurement process – from the selection of the devices to the tests in the shops and the roll-out \u2013 we had great support from Epson,\u00ab says Kraus. \u00bbThe training in our shops was completed quickly. We have also had no faults or failures so far. I am very glad that we decided in favour of Epson when setting up our new POS hardware, and I can only recommend the devices to all shop operators.\u00ab<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
